SUBSTITUTE TEACHER - Substitute positions available at KCA!!! We are currently interviewing for substitute teacher/aide positions to work on an as-needed. basis. If this is an area of interest for you, please fill out an employment application.

School Bus Drivers - The King’s Christian Academy is currently seeking full-time School Bus Drivers for
morning and afternoon routes for PreK – 12th-grade students. Preferred candidates should possess
a valid CDL with “P” and “S” endorsements. We are willing to train the ideal candidate. Hired individuals will be fingerprinted and will complete both the state and FBI background checks.

High School Science Teacher Position

 

The King’s Christian Academy is currently seeking a qualified high school science teacher. The major focus is the biological sciences. You must have a solid understanding of physical and biological sciences and how to develop and deliver engaging lessons. We are looking for an individual who incorporates technology and hands-on experiences in the classroom with enthusiasm.  Be prepared to teach biology, chemistry, and anatomy, with the possibility of teaching AP classes. (FT/PT employment)

 

Qualified individuals must be a Christian with a personal and active relationship with Christ. He/she should desire to continue to grow in faith and live it out on a daily basis. He/she must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students, and parents to develop and maintain programs, lessons, and environments that proclaim who Jesus is while also seeking academic excellence.

 

Personal Qualifications

  • Be deeply committed to a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.

  • Attend daily devotions and prayer.

  • Possess the ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and other school staff to develop a unified and successful education program.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's in Education or Science from an accredited college or university.  Master of Science is preferred.

  • Current ACSI and/or State Teaching Certificate.

  • Two or more years of high school science teaching experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of computer technology required.

 

Job Description

  • Plans and implements a program that follows the approved curriculum standards, goals, and objectives.

  • Use effective teaching techniques, materials, and educational experiences to support instruction within curriculum guidelines.

  • A successful candidate will be able to implement a project-based biology class that is engaging.

Assistant Administrator - Job Description

The Assistant Administrator assists the Administrator in the general governance and leadership of the school. The Assistant Administrator is responsible for student discipline, teacher oversight, and supervision, facilitating parent meetings, maintaining schedules, and handling logistical matters. Additionally, the Assistant Administrator frequently serves as a testing coordinator, training staff on procedures related to standardized assessment, as well as accounting for testing materials. The Assistant Administrator is an instructional leader.

The Assistant Administrator works directly under the Administrator and helps coordinate, direct, and plan the academic and student activities of the school. The Assistant Administrator manages the teachers, counselors, staff, and students on a daily basis. Along with the Administrator, they review and approve new or recommend modifications to existing programs. They prepare or oversee the maintenance of attendance records, personnel reports, planning, and other activities. The Assistant Administrator coordinates or directs the use of the high school facilities.

The Assistant Administrator meets with staff and parents to discuss policies, educational progress, and student learning or behavioral problems. He or she provides counsel and guidance to students regarding academic, personal, behavioral, or vocational issues, along with enforcing attendance and discipline rules. 

The Assistant Administrator must make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and selecting the best solution, along with developing cooperative and constructive working relationships. They perform daily administrative tasks such as processing paperwork and preparing or maintaining information files, records, and reports and also handle complaints, resolve conflicts or grievances and settle disputes. The Assistant Administrator requires extensive knowledge, skills, and experience to deal with the responsibilities of students and staff on a daily basis.

 

The Assistant Administrator, along with the Administrator provide spiritual leadership and formation for faculty and students. This includes leading morning devotions and prayer, chapel and discipleship programs both formal and informal.

Common work activities of the Assistant Administrator include:

  • Working closely with the Administrator on a daily basis to ensure the smooth overall operation of the school.

  • Supporting committees of staff and parents that function to improve the learning and social environment of the school for the students.

  • Teaching classes, developing rapport with the students, handling discipline issues, and filling in for the Administrator when required.

  • Resolving conflicts between students, teachers, parents, or combinations of conflicts between various individuals.

  • Assisting in yearly teacher evaluations, assisting in providing guidance to staff and students, and encouraging a positive climate in the school.

  • Directing assemblies and other student events throughout the year.

  • Developing emergency response plans and other reports for programs as required by state and federal education agencies.
